A Vintage Fragance for the Modern Woman
This is our version of the classic Chanel no. 5 fragrance. Originally introduced during the suffragette movement of the roaring 20's as a fragrant statement of the new modern woman, this scent has remained popular ever since. To this day no one has ever divulged the true recipe for that fabulous perfume, but we think this recipe comes very close. Legend has it that the aroma chemist Earnest Beaux created 10 test scents at the request of Coco Chanel, who selected the fifth scent and that is how the perfume got its name. The top notes are rich in aldehydes (the first lady's perfume to do so) with ylang ylang and a touch of neroli. The middle notes are dominated by jasmine and a smidgen of mayrose. The base notes of our recipe are sandalwood and vetiver.
